Is it easy to get a table here for a group of 4??
Had a good experience here with our family. Ordered a bucket of crab legs, some crab cakes, and crab bisque soup. Really wanted to try their root beer but it was sold out. The bisque was not very good. We really liked the crab legs and the crab cakes. The line seems long but moves pretty fast. The servers were very friendly. Don’t expect fresh crab legs. These are all previously frozen but they were all still delicious.
MoreThis place was great! The crabs were fresh and the other items we had were delicious. The crab cakes you could live without, we only had them because the were part of the combo we ordered and I needed to get more bang for my buck. I had the lobster bisque as part of that combo and I ordered a side of rice then poured the bisque onto it. It was really delicious! Disclaimer: quite pricey for one leg but true crab aficionados know that comes with the territory!
MoreAs someone who absolutely loves crab legs and orders them whenever possible, I can say these are hands down the best king crab legs I’ve ever had, in Alaska or anywhere else. Make sure to know how to use your crab cutter, and you will be beautifully rewarded! Go for the bucket...well worth it!
MoreFantastic! The menu was simple and a bit.pricey, $25 for one crab leg, but man was it amazing. The leg was HUGE! And tasted wonderful. The sauce with the crab cakes was tasty, the crab bisque was creamy and had lots of chunky crab. I'd love to go back, except the cruise ship pulls out in an hour. Maybe next cruise!
MoreTheir crab bisque is just heaven - rich, creamy, savory. Comes with garlic rolls for dipping that are equally divine. I've had dreams about the bisque alone. Original crab cakes are always fresh, with a slight kick, and fried to perfection. Crab legs are expensive, par for the course. You can make a delicious meal with just the bisque and crab cakes. Great location, lively and fun staff, always a treat to visit and worth the splurge.
MoreThe place was packed but it was worth the wait. Had to wait to get in to order then wait for a seat. Tried the king combo and the bisque. It was delicious.
MoreAbsolutely a must try! It's worth every bite! Although it is delicious, it's very filling! One King Crab leg was too much for just me, but I powered through! The service was great and it was interesting being able to see them cooking the food outside.
MoreWas not impressed! The king crab I order at our fish market in MN tasted better. We ordered the bucket and one leg was ice cold. It was cheerfully replaced with a warm one. Would not waste the money on this place again.
MoreBy far the best in Juneau and all of Alaska. Don't waste your time going to any other King Crab restaurant. I have been living in Alaska now for over 12 years, and my career has allowed me to travel most of Alaska. Nothing like Tracy's!!! Try the crab bisque, is the best I have ever had!! and don't be surprised if you bump into Tracy working behind the counter, she is an amazing human being and a very caring part of the Alaskan community.
MoreMy wife and I were at Tracy's Crab Shak during our first visit to Alaska 10 years ago and we loved it even though we had our lunch in a tent because the place was packed. The King crab legs were awesome. So we went back for more this trip. Again, awesome crab legs, great service, fun atmosphere. Oh, and the local beer is good too! Go, have fun, take pictures of the crab legs to impress family and friends!
MoreRecommended to us by a local - so even though it’s strategically located where the cruise ships dock, it was memorable and authentic! Didn’t realize how sweet red king crab was until our trip to Alaska - and this is a great place to try it! Even the crab roll was fresh and not soggy! Don’t miss out
MoreI asked Driftwood what would be a good place that was dog friendly and they pointed me towards Tracy's Crab shack. Their recommendation was well appreciated! not only did they allow my fur baby to be inside while I ordered my food but while I got my drink, and brought me my food, and he also helped me because I'm so indecisive with a meal that was portion control to my loving!! It's also on the dock so the views are blissful!
MoreThe crab here is fantastic. Definitely seems to be the best place for crab in Juneau. Be careful about when you go however -- it is right next to the dock and a lot of cruise ships are very close to the restaurant.Oh, and I am kicking myself for not mentioning this before. I wrote this review. What's up with the crab seasonings? The selection of items was pretty uninspired to me. If Tracy has never had Old Bay, she's missing out.
MoreHuge crab legs, tasted so buttery without butter. Mini crab cakes had a sauce with some heat. Bisque soup was fresh and tasty too. If you see a short line get in it right away, however, the line does move fast and the food comes out pretty quick. Lots of fans to move the air even in the record high heat today.
MoreAMAZING feast! You MUST try Tracy's King Crab Shack if you are in town. Everything we tried was delicious. Go ahead and try crab legs, crab cakes (amazing sauce), bisque, and rolls...You will not be disappointed!
MoreExcellent crab, lively vibe!
Instead of going back to the cruise ship for dinner, we decided to sit on the dockside and stuff our faces with Alaskan King Crab & crab bisque. I love seafood so this was perfect..a bit expensive but had to be done !!
MoreYou should go the the Alaska king crab leg. You got a good size leg and it was terrific. Environment a bit noisy but who cares when you get a great leg. We arrived by ship and location for us was close by. Main shopping street is just a few steps away.
MoreGreat food. Bit pricey but well worth it for the freshest king crab you'll ever eat. Extremely casual atmosphere.
MoreBest crab legs in town!
Great crab. Best fries I have ever had. Clean restaurant and friendly staff.
Best crab legs ever!!! They’ll get it to you quick once you get to the counter to order. So glad we didn’t miss out just because we had to board our cruise ship in 45 minutes. 😜
MoreHave been here 3 times now, many years in between visits. Each time the building has gotten bigger, and servings more $$ and smaller. Still the best stop for your crab fix!
MoreHighly visible landmark eating establishment within sight of the ship. This restuarant remains Ed busy as Alaskan tourists expect great seafood dishes. They were not disappointed by either quality nor quantity. It's an amazingly fun place. The staff can handle the business in an efficient friendly manner. As with all things Alaskan, this is visual dining. Highly recommend Tracy's King Crab Shack.
MoreLoved my experience here. Fast service, super nice staff, and the largest crab legs I had all week. Prices were very decent in my opinion and plenty of options to order. I had the king bucket, crab bisque, and crab cakes. Unfortunately, the crab cakes used imitation crab meat and the bisque just didn't quite taste like a seafood/crab bisque. However, the king bucket was amazing. Well worth the $135USD.
MoreThe best crab I ever tasted was in Moscow. They used live King crab and toasted the legs. Tracy is more conventional, but does a really good job. It is exactly what it says on the box. Big, happy, touristy place. Lively, bustling... Peter from London? Yup, that's my crab. I'd happily go back and do it again... Thanks.
MoreIt may be because this was the first time we had king crab, but I believe it was actually because we had fresh king crab. So good! Such a fun place, with the cooking counter right there. I wish Alaska was closer. On your cruise shore leave, I would highly recommend a stop there.
MoreThe Service was fantastic and super friendly! It felt like coming to eat with friends! The real star of the show was the food!!!! The bisque and crab cakes made the most perfect lunch! I can’t wait til tomorrow so I can come get it again!
MoreWe waited 1.5 hrs in the rain and when we finally got in they were sold out of the snow crab. We spent $65 for 1 king crab claw leg and partial body and still waited another hour before we were served which was ridiculous given that they were precooked and previously frozen. The cruiseship told us they were fresh not frozen which wasn't true. I assume our cruise director must get some kinda kickback or has never had fresh seafood because there wasn't anything special about this place. If you want to spend your money to say you ate crab in Alaska go ahead but hopefully you will spend your 3 hours doing something fun like we wish we did...
MoreAn easy five stars for this one. We ate at the top-rated seafood restaurants in all of the port towns on our cruise and this one topped them all. An easy menu offers crab, crab, more crab, crab cakes, and bisque. Unlike one of the other reviewers, I thought the bisque was great. The crab cakes were delicious and the King Crab legs were perfectly prepared. Community seating on long tables added to the charm. I will be proactively recommending this place to friends.
MoreHUGE! The crabs are HUGE! You gotta get to Tracy's when you go to Juneau! Bling Blinky of TEXAS Shout Out: Cracking Good Crab Legs!!
MoreGot a crab taco to try while taking a food tour after our excursion. Taco was delicious and flavorful but cost $7 tax for 1 normal sized taco. It's in a cute food truck area. Recommend swinging through there instead of jewelry stores.
MoreWe really enjoyed the food. Crab cakes were especially excellent. The place is so popular that they were running out of menus! Highly recommend splurging on the original combo #1 and giant killer claw - it's what everyone gets
MoreWent for a really amazing concert/dance, Collette Costa band incredible performers, super fun. Tons of people. Staff was really nice, thoroughly enjoyed myself. Also been there for their food which is out of this world!
MoreDelicious and pretty neat atmosphere. Pretty crowded due to the cruise ships but worth the wait
MoreAwesome place. Visited with my family during our cruise to Alaska. Crab cakes were so good, we ended up ordering few extra orders to take back on the ship with us. The best chowder I have ever had, will definitely be back for more next time we visit Juneau.
MoreThe best king crab I've ever had! I didn't realize how fair the cost here was until I reached the other cruise stops and saw their prices! The crab is all fresh and never frozen. The crab bisque and rolls are delicious as well. If you come here, get as much as you can! My pictures will do all the talking. Yum!
MoreInformal atmosphere with outstanding seafood selection. The emphasis, of course, is on their crab products but there is a nice variety of other seafood related items. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Look forward to returning.
MoreTHE. BEST. CRAB. BISQUE! The hot bread rolls and crab bisque is the perfect cure for a cold and rainy day in Juneau! This will be my first stop if I ever return to Juneau.
